Works on Canvas

My canvas works explore the intersection of memory, landscape, and atmosphere through layered painterly surfaces that sit between abstraction and place. Drawing inspiration from the Australian environment, shifting light, weather systems, and personal experience, the paintings seek to evoke emotional and sensory responses rather than depict specific locations.
Working with translucent layers, texture, and subtle spatial references, I create compositions that suggest traces of landscape, architecture, and human presence. The works examine themes of belonging, impermanence, and connection to place, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences of environment and memory.
Through a process of building, obscuring, and revealing imagery, each painting becomes a record of time and transformation. The resulting works are contemplative spaces where landscape is experienced not only as a physical location, but as a repository of history, emotion, and collective identity.
