Donna Maree Robinson’s permanent public-art works embed her poetic sensibility into community spaces across Queensland. Her commissions include significant installations at places such as Jezzine Barracks / Garabarra in Townsville — for example the digital art work for Presence (stainless steel and glass) and The Gathering (Bronze portholes, toughened safety glass, stainless steel and wood) — where her pieces contribute to the precinct’s identity and reflect layered histories of land, memory and community. She has also created public murals and artworks across the Mackay region. Through these permanent works, Robinson transforms public and communal spaces — hospitals, sports parks, civic precincts — into sites of aesthetic reflection, memory, and belonging.
